24 Best Tourism & Travel Industry Videos (2024)

In this article we are going to take a look at 24 of the best tourism and travel videos ever!

Video marketing is crucial for the travel and tourism industry, because gone are the days where people simply walk into a travel agents to talk about the best deals.

Now, we have access to information about every country, every vacation hotspot, right at our fingertips. And when it comes to shopping for vacations, research is a huge part of that.

Statistic
Travellers spend an average of 303 minutes, or over 5 hours, engaging with travel content in the 45 days before booking.

So, let’s take a look at some of the best examples of tourism videos to inspire you!

1. Come and Say G’Day (Qantas)

This short 30 second ad from Qantas is packed with enough Australian sights and sounds to make everyone want to come and say G’Day

Not only is the catchphrase quintessentially Aussie, the main character is an adorable stuffed Kangaroo.

The video flits back and forth between Melbourne and a Qantas flight, appealing to tourists from both the perspective of travelling in comfort and style and exploring an exciting destination.

2. This is Magic (Walt Disney World)

When your tagline is ‘The Most Magical Place on Earth’, marketing comes easy. But Disney still puts the effort in anyway!

This video really captures the magic of Walt Disney World by focusing not just on what you can see and do while you’re there, but how that makes you feel

We see everyone from young children to old ladies, all enjoying their own version of Disney magic.

Our Insight
This type of montage-style video is a very clever way to reach a wide variety of travellers and highlight to viewers the diverse number of experiences on offer.

3. A Romance to Remember (Visit Dubai)

Dubai’s tourism industry has seen significant growth over the past few years, and perhaps videos like this one are the reason why.

This short ad features A-listers Zac Efron and Jessica Alba as two travellers whose bags get mixed up. It plays more like a trailer for a Hollywood blockbuster and, as you can expect, this contributed massively to the video’s success – which currently stands at 18 million views on YouTube!

Of course, it’s not all about the actors – this is a tourism video, after all! The storyline very cleverly features lots of things you can see and do in Dubai if you visit.

4. Dubai is Open (Emirates)

Let’s stay in Dubai for a little while longer. However, instead of being from the perspective of the city, this ad is from Emirates, the airline that is headquartered in Dubai.

As you can tell from the script, this video was posted shortly after the pandemic and the aim was to get people excited to visit Dubai again.

In just 60 seconds, the video shows off tons of amazing – and even unique – things that travellers can experience in the city. It’s the perfect little teaser to entice people to book.

5. Is it even a city? (Visit OSLO)

We think this video is really cool! In a world where everyone is trying to share all of the amazing things about their destination, Visit OSLO pulled some reverse psychology out of the bag and the result is a very funny and unique video.

This clearly satirical take on the city still allows viewers to experience all of the incredible sights and experiences on offer, and the delivery just makes the video all the more memorable.

6. Let’s do London (Visit London)

This fun 30 second video ad for London knits together lots of different people’s experiences in a really clever way.

Another thing that’s clever about this travel video is that it uses Northern voiceover actors as a way to appeal to Brits who may not visit London very often, if at all.

Statistic
14% of Brits have never been to London.

This campaign, launched as a way to help London’s tourism sector after COVID-19, was the biggest the capital has ever seen.

Statistic
It generated £81 million towards London’s economy, attracted 330,000 additional visitors and supported over 700 businesses

7. No One Upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland (Switzerland Tourism)

The very first second of this video alone – a breath-taking shot of Gruyères Castle – is probably more than enough to persuade most people to travel to Switzerland. But Switzerland Tourism did not stop there.

They enlisted the help of possibly the most famous person from their country, Roger Federer. And also Academy Award-winning actress, Anne Hathaway.

A funny story unfolds in which Federer and Hathaway are frustrated that they don’t appear enough in an advertisement for the Grand Tour of Switzerland, so it’s kind of meta!

The ad was a hit and currently has over 100 million views on YouTube!

8. Falling for Autumn (Switzerland Tourism)

We thought this collaboration between Switzerland Tourism and Roger Federer deserved a mention, too.

This video, much more recent than the one above, has already clocked up an incredible 55 million views!

The video again features beautiful scenery as a backdrop to a humorous story between Roger Federer and another celebrity, this time Mads Mikkelsen.

Our Insight
Of course, we can’t all lean on celebrity talent to increase our video views. But what we can learn from these videos is that finding new and clever ways to position your brand, product, or service can increase viewer engagement and make your video more memorable and shareable.

9. Virgin Voyages Says No Kids on the Ocean

This video can be summed up in one word: hilarious.

What a genius idea it was for Virgin Voyages to tell the story of their adult-only cruises from the perspective of the jealous children that will be left at home. This is a video that really understands its target audience and speaks directly to them.

The delivery as a 90s style pop music video is a cherry on the cake!

10. Where Will Dubai Take You Now? (Dubai Tourism)

Yep, Dubai is on the list for a third time! And it makes sense, considering how much the United Arab Emirates relies on tourism.

Statistic
The travel and tourism sector is responsible for 9% of the UAE’s total GDP.

This huge scale musical number plays out like a Hollywood movie, so it should come as no surprise that it was actually directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman). The video hits all of the major landmarks with the aim of showing viewers that Dubai has something to offer everyone.

11. Discover Your Italy

If budget is a concern when creating your travel & tourism video, then animation could be the perfect solution.

Animation can help you to highlight your destination or brand in the best light possible, without you having to worry about shooting locations, weather, actors’ schedules, and all of the additional pressures that come with creating a live action video

With this video we made with Discover Your Italy, we were able to showcase many wonderful and recognisable tourist attractions without having to deal with the permission required to shoot at those locations or deal with the issue of crowding, and so on. And the result is a fun and engaging video that gets viewers excited about a trip to Italy!

12. Visit California

This is a very old ad now – and we wish we were able to find it in a better quality – but it’s iconic in the tourism and travel industry and so we had to include it on our list!

As you can see, tons of famous faces make cameos in this video to encourage people to visit California. The ad does a great job of highlighting all of the different sights, and ends with a big finish – a message from Arnold Schwarzenegger, then-governor of California.

13. Boutique Hotel (Hotels.com)

This 30 second ad is one of several that Hotels.com created as part of their ‘find your perfect somewhere’ campaign. As the name suggests, each video was designed to specifically target one particular demographic.

We selected this Boutique Hotels video as our favourite because it does such a great job of personifying the hotel – even down to the voiceover artist, everything about this video oozes ‘boutique’.

Our Insight
This is a really interesting perspective that you don’t see often when it comes to video marketing in the travel industry. When creating your video, it’s always useful to take a look at what competitors are doing and then try and identify ways that you can stand out and be different.

14. Dockhere

We created this fun and colourful video for our client Dockhere to help them showcase the best parts of their travel app in just 40 seconds.

Animation is an amazing option for startups like Dockhere because it’s less expensive than live action and it allows you to perfectly construct the story that you want to tell. This way, you can get all of the features across that you want to, and do so in the exact way you always imagined it happening.

15. Girls Trip (Airbnb)

Here’s another amazing animated video, showing that animation isn’t just an option for those who are low on budget. It’s an option for, well, anyone who loves animation!

We love this adorable stop-motion video from Airbnb. The attention-to-detail is great, and also helps to sell their platform more – after all, Airbnb is about finding a place to stay in that you really love.

This is one of three 30 second ad spots made by Buck for this campaign which was all about celebrating those little perks you can’t find in hotels.

16. Strangers (Airbnb)

Airbnb have so many great video marketing campaigns that we couldn’t choose just one for this list!

We selected this video as it tells a lovely, heart-warming story that works to engage viewers while at the same time quelling any doubts that potential customers might have about using the platform.

It’s funny, endearing, and memorable.

17. The Sound of Berlin

Here’s a really interesting and unique concept. Instead of showing all of the amazing sights of Berlin, this video ad focused on the sounds of the city.

In just 6 days of shooting, the team sampled more than 850 sounds! The fast pace of the video works to grab and hold the attention of viewers, and in less than a minute it feels like so much of Berlin has been shown to potential visitors.

18. Somewhere, Anywhere (Booking.com)

Another musical ad! This one from Booking.com features Mellisa McCarthy singing about all of the different booking options available through the site.

It’s hard to believe that this video is just 30 seconds long when you consider the vastness of all of the trips covered, not to mention the amount of locations and costume changes on show!

This video was first used as a Super Bowl ad, and for more inspiration from those check out this article…

Some ads transcend their industry. They become more than just an ad; they become a much loved part of pop culture. Here are the 50 best commercials… EVER!

19. Trivago

This is an old ad but very memorable for people from the UK. The most memorable part of the ad is the tagline, which has become something of a meme in recent years.

However, aside from that, the video is powerful because of the concept. The way it’s shot allows viewers to see the holiday through the eyes of the main character’s partner or loved one.

As viewers, it’s like we’re experiencing this with her and it also allows people to imagine the joy on their own loved ones’ faces when they take a trip together.

20. Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday

We wanted to include this video as it shares a lot of similarities with the Trivago ad, and could almost be seen as a modern version of it.

The concept is the same in that we – as viewers – see the holiday through the eyes of the main character’s loved one. And, also similar to Trivago, Jet2 has a very memorable tagline, “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday” and an even more memorable song!

POV style videos like this are perfect for the travel and tourism industry because they really generate a feeling of excitement that can encourage people to make a booking as soon as possible.

21. Hilton

We wanted to highlight one last animation! This is a short video we made for Hilton, but it really packs a punch – if we do say so ourselves!

This video covers 5 benefits in just 15 seconds. Plus, videos like this – with text on screen in place of voiceover – are perfect for many use cases, such as at events or on social media, basically anywhere where you can’t be sure people will be able to hear the audio.

22. The Best Gift (British Airways)

Video marketing is all about persuasion. Your job is to persuade viewers that they need your brand, product, or service. Sometimes, to be as persuasive as possible, you need to think outside the box – and that’s exactly what British Airways did here.

This beautiful story generates an emotional response in viewers, and that’s such an important component when it comes to creating marketing videos.

Statistic
According to Harvard Business School professor Gerald Zaltman, 95% of purchasing decisions are emotional.

23. Have a Haven Summer (Haven Holidays)

Haven Holidays are all about kids! And so this video shows kids having the best time at Haven.

The video covers lots of different things that families can see and do while on a Haven Holiday, and the upbeat soundtrack and voiceover add to the happy atmosphere.

Sometimes, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You just need to capture the joy that your experience brings to others and let that shine through in your video content.

24. A Spirit of its Own (Visit Scotland)

This striking video pairs a powerful voiceover with powerful visuals to showcase all that Scotland has to offer.

Like many videos on this list, A Spirit of its Own highlights many different places to see in Scotland. However, this video also adds labels on screen which makes it easy for viewers to quickly Google the locations that interest them and start building their own itinerary.
